In a fiery attack on the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan asserted that the opposition status is not something that can be claimed at will but is bestowed by the people. Speaking at Assembly media point, Pawan Kalyan lambasted the YSRCP for its disruptive tactics and accused its members of engaging in undemocratic behavior.

Pawan Kalyan made it unequivocally clear that the YSRCP should mentally accept that it will not be granted opposition status for the next five years. He ridiculed their demand, stating that opposition status is not something that can be requested or taken but is earned through the mandate of the people.

He pointed out that the Jana Sena Party has more seats than YSRCP in the Assembly, making it the official second-largest party. “Even if YSRCP had won just one more seat than JSP, they would have been granted the opposition status. However, they did not, and they must accept the reality,” Pawan Kalyan said.

The Deputy CM lashed out at YSRCP members for their disgraceful conduct in the Assembly, especially during the Governor’s speech. Despite his ill health, the Governor made an effort to address the session and outline the government's welfare and developmental programs. However, YSRCP MLAs attempted to disrupt the proceedings and later walked out. “This is unacceptable. YSRCP needs to act with dignity and respect democratic norms,” Pawan Kalyan remarked.

He further clarified that the YSRCP legislators would be given speaking time based on their numerical strength. “If they attend the Assembly, they will be allotted time proportionate to their numbers,” he stated, adding that disrupting proceedings for opposition status will not be tolerated.

Taking a sharp jibe at YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Pawan Kalyan quipped that if Jagan believes opposition status should be given based on vote percentage rather than seats, he should move to Germany. “India’s democratic system does not function that way. We follow constitutional norms, and YSRCP does not qualify for opposition status,” he stated.

Pawan Kalyan mocked the party’s stance, saying that ruling a state once does not guarantee opposition status in the future. “YSRCP is the third-largest party in the Assembly, not the second. They need to come to terms with this fact instead of creating unnecessary disruptions,” he added.

Reiterating his call for constructive opposition, Pawan Kalyan urged YSRCP legislators to attend the Assembly and raise public issues instead of engaging in theatrics. “Speaker has given them enough respect. It is their duty to debate people’s concerns, not to indulge in constant protests,” he said.
He reminded them that democratic values must be upheld, and disrupting proceedings is not the way to demand recognition.
During the Governor’s speech, YSRCP MLAs created a ruckus for nearly 11 minutes, chanting slogans and attempting to derail the session before walking out. Their primary demand was to be recognized as the main opposition party, which was firmly rejected by the government.

Senior TDP leader and minister KinjarapuAchannaidu launched a blistering attack on the YSRCP, accusing its members of showing up in the Assembly merely to mark their attendance and avoid disqualification. He condemned their behavior, stating that YSRCP MLAs had no intention of participating in meaningful discussions.

“YSRCP MLAs entered the Assembly, caused disruptions, and walked out within ten minutes. This shows they have no interest in discussing public issues,” Achannaidu said. He ridiculed their demand for opposition status, calling it laughable given that they secured only 11 seats.

Taking the attack further, Achannaidu criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, stating that YSRCP was built on corruption and false promises. “Even senior leaders in their party are hesitant to support Jagan now. Their foundation is based on lies, and the people of Andhra Pradesh have rejected them,” he remarked.

He accused YSRCP of misleading the public, stating that the party continues to peddle the same old falsehoods despite suffering a crushing defeat. “They should accept the reality instead of trying to manipulate public perception,” he added.
