Ramagundam Police Commissioner Amber Kishore Jha has called upon the public to actively cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and security. Speaking at a Community Contact Program held on Saturday night in the Hamalivada Pochamma Gudi area under Mancherial Town Police Station, the Commissioner participated in the initiative led by Mancherial DCP A. Bhaskar and ACP R. Prakash.

As part of the program, special checks were conducted on suspected areas and houses to curb illegal ganja transportation, storage and supply, while also focusing on crime control and maintaining law and order. The Commissioner directly interacted with local residents, enquired about their problems, and listened to their grievances. He assured them that any information regarding issues or illegal activities would be acted upon immediately if reported to Dial 100 or local police. He stressed that public cooperation is essential for effective crime control.

CP Jha expressed happiness that unlike in the past — when people used to avoid police — a large number of residents are now responding positively to police calls. He described the growing interaction between the public and police as a welcome development. The Commissioner advised residents to collect complete details of tenants or workers from other states before renting houses or offering employment. He urged people to remain vigilant and immediately share information about suspicious individuals with the police.

Highlighting women’s safety, the Commissioner said special priority is being given to it, with She Teams and Bharosa Centers functioning round the clock. He asked women facing harassment or violence to immediately report to Dial 100, assuring that She Team personnel would be dispatched for assistance. He warned that some individuals are bringing ganja and other drugs from other areas to addict youth, calling it a serious offence.

Strict action, including opening rowdy sheets and invoking the PD Act, would be taken against those involved in the illegal transportation, storage and sale of ganja. In view of the upcoming Bakrid festival, he said special instructions have been issued to police officers. He appealed to the public to celebrate the festival with communal harmony and peace.
