Refresher course conducted for SHE Teams

The SHE Teams have issued the following instructions for the safety of women:

Be alert while travelling. Do not go to deserted areas. 

Beware of strangers on social media. They should communicate only after confirming their identity.

Do not share personal details excessively on social media. 

Social media accounts need to have strong passwords and two-factor authentication.

Silence when faced with abuse gives strength to the perpetrator. Further crimes can be prevented by lodging a complaint immediately.

A special 'Refresher Course' training program was conducted for the staff of SHE Teams to be more sensitive and responsible towards the safety of women and girls in the city. The event was organized by the Women Safety Wing under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, V.C. Sajjanar and Additional Commissioner (Crimes & SIT)  M.Srinivas. 

On this occasion, Additional Commissioner M. Srinivas opined that the SHE Teams staff should be empathetic and humane while interacting with the victims. He stressed on the need to provide psychological courage and reassurance to the victims while taking legal action. DCP, Women Safety Wing. Dr. Lavanya NJP said that the main objective of the training is to improve the professional skills of the personnel.  The staff was briefed on new laws (BNS), use of technology, policies to be followed towards victims and how to deal with challenges on the ground.

Key points included understanding of the Indian Law Code (BNS) and special laws; understanding of SHE Portal Management and use of technical tools; training on red hand capture and maintenance of decoy operations; how to communicate with victims and self-defense techniques.
