Renova Century Hospitals, Banjara Hills, has successfully performed a rare and complex surgery on a 62-year-old man suffering from a bilateral proximal humerus fracture, a condition resulting from a fall that left both shoulders severely damaged and immobile for over a month.

After facing high treatment costs at multiple hospitals, the patient’s family turned to Renova Century, where the expert orthopedic team led by Dr. Himakanth Lingala, Dr. Vijay Kumar Reddy, and Dr. Anoop Reddy Sama undertook the case. The surgical team conducted a two-part procedure: a Right Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty and Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) with PHILOS plating on the left side.

The 6 to 8 hour surgery was a success, and the patient made a full recovery within a week. ‘This case highlights the importance of timely, expert intervention in rare orthopedic injuries,’ said Dr. Vijay Kumar Reddy. The patient’s family expressed deep gratitude for the compassionate and cost-effective care received.
