Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the Telangana Public School (TPS) at Arutla village in Ranga Reddy district, describing it as a transformative initiative aimed at rebuilding public education and creating equal opportunities for students across the state. The school, equipped with modern academic, laboratory and sports facilities, was dedicated to the nearly 27 lakh students studying in government schools across Telangana.
The Chief Minister said the institution was not merely a school for Arutla village or Ibrahimpatnam constituency but a symbol of the government's commitment to strengthening public education. He noted that the school had already enrolled 1,814 students and reached a stage where admissions had to be closed, calling it a reflection of growing public confidence in government schools.
One Public School for every constituency
Revanth Reddy said Telangana's future would be shaped not by towering buildings but by the quality of education imparted in classrooms. Referring to the Education Commission's recommendations, he said the government was implementing reforms to strengthen public education and create world class learning environments.
Announcing the government's long term vision, the Chief Minister said one Telangana Public School would be established in every Assembly constituency after studying the outcomes of the Arutla model. He said government schools were being revived to identify and nurture talent from all sections of society.
He urged students to aim for careers as IAS and IPS officers, professionals, scientists and public representatives. Recalling that former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao and several national leaders studied in government schools, Revanth Reddy said quality public education had historically produced leaders capable of transforming society.
The Chief Minister highlighted several flagship initiatives, including Young India Integrated Residential Schools, Young India Skills University and Young India Sports University. He said these institutions were designed to provide students with academic excellence, skill development and international standard sports training.
The government is also providing quality uniforms, educational kits and improved infrastructure while promoting social integration through common educational spaces for students from all communities. He announced that the permanent campus of Young India Skills University would be inaugurated on December 9.
Launching a sharp attack on the BRS, Revanth Reddy accused the opposition of indulging in baseless allegations and negative politics even against initiatives meant for students and youth.
