Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, on Friday, conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas in the erstwhile Warangal district and Husnabad Assembly Constituency to assess the extent of damage caused by the recent heavy rains and flash floods. The Chief Minister personally reviewed the situation on the ground and held a meeting with district officials to take stock of relief and rehabilitation measures.

The Chief Minister announced immediate relief to the affected farmers and families. An ex gratia of Rs. 5 lakh will be provided to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives in the floods. Each family whose house was submerged will receive ₹15,000, while the most affected families will be allotted Indiramma houses. Special financial assistance will also be extended to those who suffered loss of livestock and crop damage.

CM Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare and submit a comprehensive report detailing the extent of human loss, crop damage, livestock loss, sand deposits on farmlands, and infrastructure damage. He urged public representatives to actively cooperate with the administration during the enumeration process and submit supplementary reports to the District Collectors.

The Chief Minister enquired about the status of central assistance for flood relief and instructed officials to expedite the process of seeking funds from the Union Government. He cautioned against any delay in obtaining central relief funds and emphasized the need for swift action to support affected families.

Highlighting the need for a permanent solution to recurring floods and cloudburst incidents, CM Revanth Reddy underscored the importance of effective coordination among departments. He observed that the lack of coordination has exacerbated civic issues during floods and directed all departments to work in tandem. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to launch a comprehensive drive to demolish encroachments along nalas and water bodies in Warangal city, stressing that strict measures must be taken in the larger public interest.

He further directed the Municipal Administration and Irrigation Departments to work jointly in clearing encroachments and to prepare a special report on Smart City works. The CM also ordered the constitution of a coordination committee at the field level and instructed district authorities to conduct regular field inspections.
