The tender process for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) North Part will be completed within two months, and construction is expected to begin by January 2026, announced Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy in Chityal on Saturday. He said the process would be finalised by December to enable a smooth rollout in the new year.
Komatireddy stated that when the current government assumed office, only six per cent of land acquisition had been completed, but with efforts to persuade farmers, it has now crossed 98%. The original four-lane RRR has been upgraded to a six-lane road, anticipating increased traffic by 2035. The 161.5 km stretch will pass through Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Bhongir and Choutuppal. Around Rs 6,000 crore has been allocated for land acquisition, shared equally by the State and Centre, with Telangana’s Rs 3,000 crore arranged through HUDCO.
The Minister said both Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and he had met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and received positive support. There will be no change in alignment, and works will begin in January.
Reassuring farmers over the southern part, Komatireddy said the project will proceed only with their consent, and a ministerial committee will be formed soon to address land and alignment issues. He added that Gadkari had also approved the Gourelli–Bhadrachalam Highway and LB Nagar–Malkapuram Road.
Komatireddy further announced that work on the 8-lane Hyderabad–Vijayawada Highway would begin by February 2026.
