Builders and people construction houses have something to cheer about. As far as sand is concerned, whether fine sand (sanna isuka) or coarse sand (dhoddu isuka) is concerned they can pick it up from four areas in the city namely; Bowrampet, Vatinagulapally, Abdullapurmet and Adibatla.

A senior official of Telangana Mineral Development Corporation (TGMDC) said that the price of fine sand (‘sanna isuka’) would be sold at Rs 1,800 per metric tonne, coarse sand (dhoddu isuka) would be sold at Rs 1,600 per tonne and these prices would remain the same throughout the year.

Extra charges would be applied for transportation. Consumers would get it at the same price throughout the year. Booking facility would be open 24/7. The price of sand varies every day based on the demand but the price would remain the same at the sand bazaars.

The sand bazaars were opened earlier this year and people in several areas of the city are unaware. Mohan K, a resident of DD Colony says, “My uncle is constructing a house and I came to know about this facility form him. It would be nice if more sand bazaars are started across the city. Officials at TGMDC say that there are plans to start two more sand bazaars in the city. One in Shameerpet and the other site is yet to be decided.
