SATS MD assures special attention to sports

The Telangana State Sports Authority (SATS) Vice Chairperson and Managing Director, Dr. Sony Baladevi, said that special attention will be given to the development of sports in the district, with necessary measures being taken to provide adequate infrastructure and facilities for athletes.

As part of the ‘Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika ‘program, Dr. Baladevi visited the district on Monday and conducted a review meeting with officials at the Collectorate. The meeting was attended by District Collector K. Haritha, Additional Collector Yuvaraj Marmat, and District Forest Officer Balamani.

Following the review meeting, Dr. Baladevi inspected the sports ground at Janakapur, the Adarsha Sports School playground, and the Tribal Welfare Girls Sports School. During her visit, she directed officials to prepare and submit proposals for the development of the Janakapur sports ground. 

At the Tribal Welfare Sports School, Dr. Baladevi reviewed the medals and trophies won by students at state and national-level competitions and congratulated them on their achievements. She encouraged tribal girls to excel not only in academics but also in sports and strive to reach greater heights in their careers.

Dr. Baladevi also instructed Physical Directors (PDs) and Physical Education Teachers (PETs) to ensure quality training for students and help them achieve excellence in their respective disciplines. The SATS Vice Chairperson further congratulated students who emerged victorious in the Chief Minister’s Cup sports competitions and appreciated the coaches who trained and guided them to success.
