Govt implementing schemes for women’s empowerment: PCC Vice President

PCC Vice President and Sanath Nagar Congress Party In-Charge Dr. Kota Neelima said that the state government is implementing the ‘Indiramma Saree Distribution’ program with the objective of strengthening the dignity, self-respect and welfare of women. As part of the Indira Mahila Shakti initiative, Dr. Neelima distributed sarees to women at Nallagutta in Rangopalpet division on Monday. Dr. Neelima highlighted that the Government is providing free travel for women in RTC buses, Gruha Jyothi scheme where households are receiving up to 200 units of free electricity, and also the scheme for supplying LPG cylinders at Rs 500.

Additionally, Indiramma Houses are being sanctioned to women who do not own a house, thereby ensuring housing security and social upliftment, Dr. Neelima observed. She further mentioned that when women become economically empowered, it contributes not only to the prosperity of their families but also to the development of the State and the nation. She said that the government has set an ambitious goal of transforming one crore women in Telangana into millionaires, thereby accelerating inclusive economic growth.
