The Andhra Pradesh government has directed officials and the ministers’ committee to ensure that all approved industrial and infrastructure projects achieve grounding by September this year and begin operations by December 2028.

Reviewing the progress of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the Visakhapatnam Investors Summit and projects cleared by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stressed the need to demonstrate the state’s Speed of Doing Business model through swift execution on the ground. During the review meeting held at the Camp Office in Amaravati on Thursday, IT Minister Nara Lokesh presented the status of investments and project implementation. He informed the Chief Minister that Andhra Pradesh had attracted 756 projects worth Rs 21.64 lakh crore over the last 23 months, generating employment potential for more than 21.20 lakh youth across the state.

Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh was rapidly emerging as one of the country’s leading destinations for private investment and added that a dedicated online platform would soon provide approvals and services for MSMEs. The Chief Minister directed officials to establish a single digital dashboard to monitor project grounding, approvals, and employment generation in real time.

Naidu instructed officials to give top priority to tourism projects in land allocation, followed by IT investments. He also proposed the development of innovative multi-purpose infrastructure for tourism and IT sectors. Special emphasis was laid on transforming Surya Lanka Beach into a Goa Plus tourism destination, with a master plan for Bapatla beach expected shortly.

The government also plans to fast-track a temple tourism circuit connecting 21 major temples across the state. The Chief Minister further stressed accelerating semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, green energy, waste-to-energy, food processing, shipbuilding, and logistics projects. Officials informed the meeting that 99 GW of green energy projects were already under implementation against the state’s target of 160 GW.

Naidu also called for environmentally sustainable industrial growth, warning industries against releasing pollutants into coastal waters. He directed officials to ensure faster approvals, improved infrastructure support, and strict monitoring so projects commence operations within the stipulated timelines.
