SP urges people not to panic by ‘digital arrests’

Mahabubabad District Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Shabareesh has urged the public not to believe or panic over threats made by fraudsters in the name of ‘digital arrest’. Marking the conclusion of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the Mahabubabad District Police organised a massive flash walk in the district headquarters to create awareness about cybercrime and online fraud.  SP Dr. Shabareesh advised victims of cyber fraud to immediately call the national cybercrime helpline 1930 to report the incident and seek assistance. He further advised the public not to respond immediately to any suspicious phone call or message. Instead, people should pause, carefully verify the authenticity of the information and only then make a decision.
