A 15-day special medical camp and awareness seminars will be held across the country from September 17 to October 2nd under the instructions of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. These camps will be organized under the theme of "Swasth Nari-Swashakt Parivar Abhiyan". Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event at Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Medical and Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, ministers and public representatives will inaugurate in the state in Visakhapatnam.
Arrangements are being made to conduct these camps in 10,032 health and wellness centers, 1,144 PHCs, 560 Urban Health Centers, 175 Community Health Centres and other government hospitals in the state. Gynecologists, pediatricians, ophthalmology, ENT, dental, psychiatry and dermatology doctors will provide services in these medical camps. Dedicated health kiosks will be set up in these camps. Hemoglobin, BP, diabetes, cancer, TB screening and pregnant women will be screened. Children will be vaccinated. Blood donation camps will also be organized.
The importance of nutrition will also be explained to the women. Registration for issuance of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana cards and Vyava Vandana cards for those above 70 years of age will be done in these medical camps. State Health and Family Welfare Commissioner Veerapandian briefed the District Medical and Health Officials about the steps to be taken to conduct medical camps on Thursday. He also urged the Lok Sabha MPs and other public representatives to participate in the inauguration of the camps and also to register the details of those who have been treated during the camps online. Private hospitals and associations should also be involved in the conduct of medical camps.
