SRI CHANDANA BROTHERS KUKATPALLY

A family shopping destination

HEMA SINGULURI | Hyderabad

In the rapidly changing retail landscape of Hyderabad, where fashion trends evolve every season and customer expectations continue to rise, some names remain connected with trust and familiarity. Sri Chandana Brothers, KPHB, is one such destination that has built its identity around quality textiles, jewellery collections and a customer-first approach that has continued across generations.

Located in Kukatpally, the store has become a popular shopping destination for families looking for traditional sarees, contemporary ethnic wear, children’s clothing and jewellery under one roof. Owned by Chandana Anand Babu (Bobby) Garu, the KPHB branch represents the larger legacy of Chandana Brothers, a name that has been associated with textiles and jewellery retail for decades.

Successful journey

The Chandana Brothers story is rooted in the retail journey of Shri Chandana Mohana Rao. The foundation of the business traces back to the early 1970s, beginning with Ramachandra Textiles in Rajahmundry in 1971. The journey continued with Ramachandra Cloth Showroom in 1978, followed by the introduction of Chandana Kanchi Sarees in 1982.

With a focus on traditional Indian wear and customer satisfaction, the brand gradually expanded its presence. In 1986, the Vizag branch of Chandana Brothers was established, marking an important phase in its regional growth.

The expansion continued towards Hyderabad around 1990. The brand strengthened its footprint further with a Vijayawada branch in 1992, followed by branches in Bhimavaram, Guntur and Nellore in 1995.

Over the years, Chandana Brothers evolved from being a textile retailer into a complete family shopping destination offering wedding collections, silk sarees, designer wear, men’s fashion, children’s apparel and jewellery.

Building trust through weddings and celebrations

For many Telugu-speaking families, wedding shopping is not just a purchase, it is an emotional experience. Chandana Brothers became closely associated with these celebrations by offering extensive collections of pattu sarees, bridal wear and jewellery options.

At Sri Chandana Brothers, KPHB, shoppers particularly appreciate the collection of designer sarees, women’s ethnic wear and baby readymade garments. The store’s jewellery section adds another dimension to the shopping experience, offering a wide range of gold and silver jewellery.

Jewellery retail with transparency

The jewellery segment has become an important part of the Chandana Brothers journey. The group’s jewellery operations include dedicated jewellery-focused businesses such as CBJ Gold & Diamonds, focusing on gold and diamond jewellery collections with an emphasis on certified products and bridal designs.

At the KPHB branch, owner Chandana Anand Babu says that gold sales have been witnessing strong customer interest. The store provides customers with updated daily gold rate information, ensuring transparency during purchases.

“Customer prioritization has been the key factor behind our consistent growth over the decades,” says Anand Babu. “Staying updated with trends while maintaining proper customer service is what we mainly follow.”

He adds that the store focuses on offering lightweight jewellery pieces, which has helped create a unique identity among customers. Certification details on jewellery products are clearly displayed and explained, helping buyers understand product quality before making a purchase.

According to Anand Babu, maintaining a positive relationship with customers has always been a priority. Staff members are encouraged to patiently guide customers, whether they are selecting a saree, choosing children’s clothing or understanding jewellery specifications.

Customers have appreciated the store’s polite and helpful staff, particularly in sections such as kids’ apparel and parking assistance. The comfortable shopping environment, wide selection and supportive service have contributed to the store’s reputation in the KPHB area.

Staying ahead in a changing market

Retail competition has grown significantly, with customers now exposed to changing trends, online shopping and evolving fashion preferences. Anand Babu believes that adapting continuously is essential for survival.

“We regularly upgrade and replace our collections with trendy designs while facing competition,” he explains.

The store keeps updating its textile and jewellery inventory according to customer choices. Along with popular designs, unique products that are not commonly available in the market are also introduced occasionally to offer customers something different.

According to him, understanding the market, observing customer behaviour and continuously improving are essential qualities for business owners and entrepreneurs.

He also points out that global economic changes, including fluctuations affecting oil prices and other sectors, influence market conditions and consumer behaviour. Businesses must remain flexible and prepared to adjust according to these changes.

A legacy built on relationships

From its early beginnings in Rajahmundry to its expansion across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Chandana Brothers has grown through decades of customer relationships. The KPHB branch continues this tradition by combining a wide product range with personalized service.

For families looking for sarees, ethnic wear, children’s fashion and jewellery, Sri Chandana Brothers remains a destination where shopping is built around trust, choice and celebration.
