Minister Sridhar Babu on Monday delivered a forceful rebuttal to former minister Harish Rao’s comments from his Peddapalli visit, calling Rao’s claim that the public are weary of the government within two-and-a-half years a “misguided illusion. ”Addressing reporters at the CLP office, Sridhar Babu said voters had already punished the BRS party for a decade of arrogance in Assembly, Lok Sabha, panchayat and municipal elections.
Rejecting Rao’s assertion that land prices in Peddapalli have fallen, the minister described the charge as laughable and malicious. He alleged that during the BRS party’s ten-year rule, leaders and land mafias artificially inflated rates, forcing ordinary families to hesitate even to buy a square yard or build a house. “That is the reality Mr. Harish Rao should acknowledge,” he said.
Sridhar Babu accused K. Chandrashekar Rao of damaging police dignity by turning officers into protectors for his inner circle, asserting that “friendly policing” benefited only Rao and his relatives, not ordinary citizens. He defended his administration’s record, saying the government is fully committed to police welfare and their rights, and dismissed social media claims of salary cuts and allowance withdrawals as fabrications from Rao’s IT cell.
The minister also criticised reported threats at a BRS meeting in Peddapalli where officials and police were named and warned with “we will teach you a lesson” if the party returned to power. He called such rhetoric unbecoming of a former minister and warned that lawful action will be taken against those spreading falsehood or incitement online. Sridhar Babu concluded by assuring that any officer who discharges duties responsibly within the law will have full support from the government.
