In a significant indicator of renewed public trust in government education, officials informed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy that over 48,000 students have migrated from private to government schools across Telangana this academic year. This remarkable trend was highlighted during a high-level review meeting of the School Education Department chaired by the Chief Minister at the ICCC on Wednesday.

Acknowledging this shift, CM Revanth Reddy stressed the urgent need to further strengthen the public education system to accommodate the increasing student base. He issued several key directives aimed at making the system more robust, inclusive, and future-ready.

He instructed Additional Collectors (IAS officers) in all districts to visit at least two government schools every week to assess and monitor ground-level implementation. The Chief Minister also directed education officials to construct additional classrooms in schools facing space constraints and ensure adequate facilities for students with special needs.

To modernize midday meal infrastructure, Revanth Reddy emphasized the immediate rollout of solar-powered kitchens to replace traditional gas and firewood-based cooking. He said this move would significantly reduce the burden on women working in meal preparation and promote clean energy solutions.

Expressing concern over the low transition rate of students from Class 10 to Intermediate education, the Chief Minister asked officials to ensure that every 10th-grade pass-out is enrolled in Intermediate courses. He further suggested that students be encouraged to pursue skill development training after Intermediate to build secure and sustainable career paths.

Senior officials including Education Secretary Yogita Rana, Technical Education Commissioner A. Sridevasena, Special Chief Secretaries B. Ajith Reddy and M. Haritha, and CM’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy participated in the review meeting.
