In a continuing effort to ensure the safety and well-being of Telangana natives stranded in conflict-hit regions of the Middle East, the Telangana government has been actively coordinating their return in close liaison with the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassies.
As on June 25, a total of 48 Telangana natives have safely returned. This includes 25 new arrivals on Wednesday— 5 from Mashhad (Iran), 1 from Jordan (via Iran), and 11 from Israel (in two groups of 7 and 4 respectively) came on Tuesday. Additionally, 6 students arrived on Monday — 4 from Iran and 2 from Israel.
Since the outbreak of hostilities in the region, the Telangana government has established a dedicated helpdesk at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi to provide real-time support. The helpdesk has remained actively engaged in receiving, guiding, and assisting evacuees, with Telangana Bhavan staff ensuring a smooth reception at the airport, offering refreshments, and coordinating onward travel arrangements. All passengers have voluntarily borne the cost of travel from Delhi to Hyderabad.
The government has also been addressing individual cases flagged by families and public representatives, tracking citizen locations, and liaising with Indian embassies to ensure they are part of the evacuation efforts. Special attention is being paid to those stranded in Israel, where outbound flights continue to be affected due to temporary airspace restrictions. More arrivals are expected later today and over the next few days.
