Sunshine Bone & Joint Institute, part of the KIMS Group of Hospitals, has been recognized as India’s first Center of Excellence (CoE) for robotic joint replacement by Stryker, a global leader in medical technology.
The recognition highlights Sunshine’s contribution to advancing robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery, clinical research, and surgeon training. Announcing the recognition at a press meet, Dr. A. V. Gurava Reddy, Managing Director of KIMS-Sunshine Hospitals, said the collaboration with Stryker marks a major step toward precision-based and affordable joint care in India. Dr. Reddy stated that Sunshine has completed over 10,000 robotic-assisted knee and hip replacement surgeries, maintaining a strong focus on clinical excellence and accessibility. “While robotic knee surgeries cost nearly Rs 10 lakh in metros, we offer them at less than Rs 4 lakh without compromising on quality,” he said.
Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Group, said the organization’s focus remains on bringing the latest medical technologies within reach of patients across India.
Stryker India Vice President and General Manager, Aman Rishi, said the CoE status was awarded for Sunshine’s clinical outcomes, research publications, and role in training surgeons in robotic-assisted procedures.
The event also featured presentations by Executive Directors Dr. Adarsh Annapareddy and Dr. Kushal Hippalgaonkar, who explained the benefits of robotic-assisted surgery. Senior medical team members, including Dr. Divakar Reddy, were present on the occasion.
