The Commissioner’s Task Force, Jubilee Hills Zone Team, along with SR Nagar Police, arrested a suspended CISF constable and seized 158 kg of dry ganja worth about Rs. 79 lakh during a late-night operation in Hyderabad.
The accused, identified as Panagudu Shiva Krishna (39), a native of Alluri Sitharama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh and currently residing in Kerala, was apprehended near Nature Cure Hospital in SR Nagar on June 2. Police also seized a Chevrolet Sail car and three mobile phones from his possession. According to investigators, Shiva Krishna joined the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in 2009 and was later deputed to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
Due to financial difficulties, he allegedly entered the illegal ganja trade, procuring the contraband from cultivators and supplying it to interstate drug peddlers in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. Police said the accused allegedly misused his CISF identity card to avoid vehicle inspections at check posts while transporting narcotics. He had earlier been arrested in 2025 by Dammapet Police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district under the NDPS Act and was suspended from service after being sent to jail.
