Food delivery platform Swiggy on Monday rolled out EatRight, a new category aimed at health-conscious consumers, across more than 50 cities in India. The initiative brings together a wide range of healthier food options—such as high-protein meals, low-calorie dishes and items with no added sugar—under a single, easy-to-access section on the app.
The company said EatRight has been designed to simplify healthier eating choices by clearly categorising food options, helping users avoid decision fatigue while ordering their regular meals. The new category currently features over 1.8 million dishes sourced from more than two lakh restaurant partners across the country.
Sharing insights from its order data, Swiggy noted that demand for healthy food is growing faster in Tier-2 cities than in major metros. According to the platform, Tier-2 cities recorded nearly double the year-on-year growth in healthy food orders compared to metropolitan areas. Cities such as Chandigarh, Guwahati, Ludhiana and Bhubaneswar emerged as key drivers of this trend, indicating a broad-based shift towards mindful eating beyond large urban centres.
Deepak Maloo, Vice President – Food Strategy, Customer Experience and New Initiatives at Swiggy, said EatRight aims to make healthier food a natural part of everyday ordering habits rather than a separate or restrictive choice. He added that the focus is on integrating health-forward meals seamlessly into users’ regular food discovery journey.
Swiggy also said several partner brands are developing new menu items and SKUs aligned with the rising consumer preference for nutritious and balanced meals, further strengthening the EatRight ecosystem.
