TCEI & SERP Telangana empower 180 rural women

Hyderabad: Telangana Chamber of Events Industry (TCEI) - an industry body with over 450 members representing the events management industry of the state has rendered training in different crafts of event management for a batch of 180 rural women from November 27th to December 1st, 2025. This 5-day training was conducted at the National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management (NITHM) campus at Gachibowli sponsored by Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Government of Telangana. 

The candidates were trained in 6 different crafts of event management viz., decoration techniques and new trends, sound & light management, event production, catering & food services, make-up and grooming and photo & videography. Classroom training was supported with field visits to make the candidates get first-hand experience of organizing the events. 

Prof. Y L Srinivas, Vice-Chancellor of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University, Mulugu was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Ceremony which was also attended by P W Johnson, Director SERP (Non-farm).  Speaking on the occasion Prof. Srinivas, expressed happiness over the increasing number of women taking up entrepreneurship and urged the government to further encourage these trained women event managers.
