Telangana Darshini rollout discussed

The Department of Tourism, Government of Telangana, organized an Orientation Meeting on Tuesday at The Plaza Hotel, Begumpet, to deliberate on the implementation strategy and operational framework of the Yuva Tourism Clubs and Telangana Darshini programmes. The initiatives aim to create awareness among students about Telangana’s rich tourism, cultural, heritage, and ecological assets while promoting responsible tourism among the youth. The meeting brought together representatives from various education departments, universities, educational institutions, district tourism offices, and other stakeholders associated with youth engagement and tourism promotion.

Discussions focused on the formation and effective functioning of Yuva Tourism Clubs, institutional coordination, student participation, awareness campaigns, and the successful execution of the Telangana Darshini Programme across the State. Addressing the gathering, Special Chief Secretary to Government, Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture Department, Vani Prasad, highlighted the importance of nurturing a sense of pride among students in Telangana’s heritage and tourism potential. Tourism Director Ranjeet Nayak, IFS, emphasized the role of youth in promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices.

Telangana has emerged as the top State in the country in the registration of Yuva Tourism Clubs, accounting for nearly 5,000 registrations out of about 9,000 registrations nationwide, reflecting the enthusiastic participation of educational institutions and students. The meeting was attended by Managing Director, Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, Gouthami, IAS; Director, Director, NITHM, Prof. Venkata Ramana; Chairman, Higher Education Council, Bala Kishta Reddy; officials from School Education, Collegiate Education, Technical Education departments, and District Tourism Officers.
