The Telangana government has launched India’s first electricity ambulance service, an initiative aimed at ensuring quick and efficient resolution of power disruptions across the state. This initiative will provide round-the-clock emergency response, improving service reliability and reducing electricity downtime for households, businesses, and essential services.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “The Electricity Ambulance Service is a major step toward strengthening Telangana’s power infrastructure. With this initiative, we aim to provide immediate assistance, ensuring uninterrupted electricity for all citizens.”
The Electricity Ambulance Service will operate 24/7, allowing consumers to report power outages through a toll-free number (1912). Upon receiving a complaint, a dedicated team of engineers and linemen will be dispatched immediately. These ambulances are equipped with transformers, thermal vision cameras, high-quality cables, and advanced repair tools, enabling faster restoration of power.
Initially launched in Hyderabad’s 57 sub-divisions, the initiative will soon be expanded statewide to ensure rapid deployment and efficient handling of faults, repairs, and emergency power failures.
The Telangana government is committed to modernizing power infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply across the state. The Electricity Ambulance Service is a significant step in enhancing service efficiency and setting new benchmarks in electricity management. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision to make Telangana a leader in smart power solutions and infrastructure development, Bhatti said.
