In continuation to the arrests made in the interstate child-kidnapping racket by the Rachakonda police in Chaitanyapuri, 27 more persons were arrested on Wednesday.
Arrested persons identified as Somu Amulya (29), Vaishali Bheemrao Wasnik (40), Janpally Karthik (43), Sajjan Agarwal (41), Banala Mangaiah (42), Bodasu Nagaraju (31), Ramaram Ashok (30), Shaik Ismail (31), Macharla Vamshi Krishna (31) and all others are adopted parents of the children.
As per the confession of Kola Krishnaveni and Deepthi one more accused Amulya who was also involved in the illegal procuration and sales of Infants was identified. During Police custody Kola Krishnaveni has confessed the illegal procuration and sales of three more Infants among which one girl was rescued.
The second accused Deepthi confessed that she with Amulya has procured and sold 10 more Infants (4 boys and 6 girls) among which 4 girls and 1 boy were rescued. As per the confession one more prime accused Amulya was apprehended on March 18 and she has confessed to have illegally procured and sold 8 Infants (4 boys and 4 girls) among which 3 girls and 1 boy were rescued.
The infants were procured from Mumbai, Kanpur, Raipur, Amaravathi and Hyderabad and sold to couples in Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Guntur to make easy money. Speaking to media persons at a press conference, Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu said the gang procured each female infant for about Rs 2-3 lakh and sold it for Rs 3-4 lakh.
