The state recorded GST revenue of Rs. 4,621 crore in April 2026, marking a significant year on year growth of 35 percent compared to Rs. 3,433 crore in April 2025. The state has consistently maintained GST revenues above Rs. 4,000 crore over the past four months, indicating sustained buoyancy in economic activity. In addition to GST, the total revenue collected by the Commercial Taxes Department, including VAT on petrol and liquor as well as professional tax, reached an all time high of Rs. 7,570 crore. This marks a 22 percent increase compared to Rs. 6,210 crore collected in the corresponding period.

Furthermore, the total GST revenue generated from Telangana, including CGST, SGST, and IGST, stood at Rs. 7,181 crore. This reflects a year on year growth of 12.6 percent, placing Telangana as the second highest among all states in GST growth, next only to Karnataka.

The impressive revenue growth is attributed to a surge in economic activity across key sectors, supported by a business friendly ecosystem that has attracted investments, enabled business expansion, generated employment, and boosted consumption.

The Commercial Taxes Department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a transparent, fair, and taxpayer friendly system, while continuing to strengthen compliance and support economic growth in the state.
