Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday said the Telangana government has set a target of planting 18 crore saplings under 'Vana Mahotsavam 2025'. Addressing a gathering at the launch of 'Vana Mahotsavam 2025' at PJT Agricultural University, Reddy recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to plant a sapling in the name of one's mother and urged them to plant saplings in their children's names as well. "Nature will protect us if we take care of nature," Reddy said. He added that Telangana can become a complete green zone if people nurture trees as they would their children.

Stating that the People's Government is committed to empowering women, Reddy said he would ensure 60 party tickets are given to women in the next Assembly elections, in line with reports that the women's quota in legislative bodies will be implemented. Listing various women-centric initiatives, Reddy highlighted schemes such as setting up solar plants, running government schools for girls, and providing Rs 21,000 crore in loans to women’s groups this year.

The government is also offering free RTC bus travel to women and has facilitated the leasing of 1,000 buses to women entrepreneurs, making them owners of the fleet. Reiterating his vision of creating one crore women millionaires, Reddy said self-help groups will also be expanded to urban areas. The government is making all efforts to empower women in all fields and ensure they lead a decent life with self-respect under the Indiramma regime (Congress), the release added.
