Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday announced that the State has begun preparations for the second edition of the Global Investment Summit, scheduled to be held in December 2026.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while reviewing the Tourism Department at MCR HRD's Bodhi Pavilion, stressing that the summit should build on the overwhelming success of the inaugural edition held in December 2025, which attracted Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) representing investment commitments worth Rs 5.57 lakh crore. He directed officials to immediately initiate planning and ensure seamless coordination among all departments for the flagship global event.
Highlighting the importance of the upcoming Global Investment Summit, the Chief Minister said every department should work in close coordination to ensure that the summit showcases Telangana's investment potential, tourism strengths and world class infrastructure before global investors, further reinforcing the State's position as one of India's leading investment destinations
Emphasising that tourism is emerging as a key driver of Telangana's economic growth, the Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the development of major tourism destinations across the State while integrating heritage, eco tourism and urban recreation into a comprehensive tourism strategy.
He instructed officials to further develop Taramati Baradari into a premier tourist destination and transform Durgam Cheruvu into a world class urban tourism hub with enhanced visitor amenities. The Chief Minister also ordered the modernisation of the Manjeera and Dilkusha guest houses to improve hospitality infrastructure.
Under the Tourism Hub Development Programme, Revanth Reddy directed officials to develop Vikarabad as a major tourism destination. He instructed that the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple at Vikarabad be developed on the lines of Yadadri and called for the constitution of a dedicated temple development committee to oversee the project.
The Chief Minister also laid emphasis on expanding eco tourism initiatives by developing forest lands under the CURE programme jointly with the Forest and Tourism Departments. He proposed the creation of additional eco parks across Hyderabad on the model of the Gurramguda Eco Park and directed that forest lands in the Future City be developed into internationally benchmarked urban forests and eco tourism destinations. To ensure speedy implementation, he asked officials to appoint a Special Officer exclusively for Urban Forest projects.
Revanth Reddy also reviewed plans for heritage tourism and directed officials to restore and develop the historic Puranapul heritage bridge as a tourism attraction. He instructed that tourist friendly facilities be created on the bridge and suggested exploring traffic diversion measures, wherever feasible, to provide visitors with a safer and more enjoyable experience.
The review meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister Ramakrishna Rao, Special Chief Secretary (Tourism) A Vani Prasad, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sheshadri, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister N. Sridhar, and Telangana Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Gauthami.
