Metro India News | Hyderabad

For the upcoming Bathukamma and Dasara festivals, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will operate around 7,754 special buses from September 20 to October 2 to meet the high passenger demand. The biggest rush is expected from September 27, with festivals on September 30 and October 2. Buses will run from Hyderabad and Secunderabad to districts across Telangana, as well as to neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. Extra buses will be added on October 5 and 6 based on demand, and 377 buses will offer advance reservations.

To ensure safety and comfort, the TGSRTC has arranged additional buses—up to 617 more than last year—and set up special camps at busy points with facilities like seating, drinking water, and shade tents for passengers. Starting points include major terminals like MGBS, JBS, and CBS, along with busy pickup spots. In case of high demand, more buses will be deployed with police and authorities' support.

Fares will be increased by up to 50% on certain days to cover operational costs, but regular service charges will stay the same during the festival. The agency expects even more travelers than last year, with extended holidays and overlapping festivals. To prevent congestion, special parking and traffic arrangements are planned at major depots and pickup points.

Passengers can reserve seats online or at RTC counters and can also opt for overnight services on busy routes. More information is available on the official website and helplines. Passengers can go through the corporation’s official website tgsrtcbus.in or consult RTC Call centers at 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
