CPI MLC Nellikanti Satyam on Sunday  criticised the annual budget for 2026-27 presented by the Central Government in Parliament and stated  that it had dashed the hopes of the people of Telangana and was utterly disappointing. He fumed that despite thousands of crores of rupees in taxes by going from the state to the center, the central government had once again shown discrimination towards Telangana in allocating funds. He said that the failure to even mention the bifurcation promises of the Kazipet Coach Factory and the Bayyaram Steel Plant was a proof of the central government's lack of sincerity.

He said that In an agriculture-based country, the central government had neglected the welfare of the farmers and added that It was deplorable that no announcement was made regarding a Minimum Support Price (MSP) law for crops as per the Swaminathan Commission recommendations. “Cutting fertilizer subsidies will impose a huge burden on the farmers in the agriculture-dependent districts like Nalgonda,” he said.

He said that Injustice was done to the Handloom Sector and added that It was regrettable that the GST on the handloom products had not been waived as demanded for a long time by the handloom weavers in areas like Pochampally, Narayanpur and Puttapaka. He said that while weavers are struggling due to rising raw material prices, the budget had offered them no relief. He said that  It was regrettable that no special funds had been allocated for the rehabilitation of fluorosis victims in the Nalgonda district or for strengthening the Fluorosis Research Center.  He said that there  was no clarity on the central government's share of the funds for the land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road (RRR).

Satyam said that the failure to bring petrol and diesel prices under the GST regime was making essential commodities unaffordable for the common man. He said that while unemployment is increasing in the country, this budget lacks any specific plans to create employment opportunities for the youth.

Satyam alleged that the NDA government had neglected youth and women's welfare. He stated that despite Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the budget nine times, it was nothing but a manipulation of figures by offering no benefit to the poor, middle class, farmers, or women. He added that the budget did not include any measures to address the rising prices. He described this budget as merely a manipulation of figures, by offering no benefit to the common people, farmers, or laborers and called it a completely pro-corporate budget. He warned that they would raise their voice in the upcoming assembly sessions to fight for the state's rights.
