Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday welcomed the Union Budget, describing it as a forward-looking and balanced document that would significantly support Andhra Pradesh’s development agenda. Reacting to the budget proposals, the Chief Minister congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting what he termed a “vision-driven budget” aligned with India’s goal of becoming a developed economy by 2047.
Chandrababu Naidu said the budget would enable the state government to pursue its priorities with greater momentum, particularly in ease of doing business, industrial growth and employment generation. He noted that Andhra Pradesh has already placed strong emphasis on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and the budget provides an opportunity to further strengthen the sector.
He said the proposals promote empowerment of women, farmers and youth, while advancing next-generation reforms in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and advanced technologies. The Chief Minister said the focus on renewable energy and the “One Grid–One Nation” vision would contribute to long-term energy security.
Highlighting infrastructure initiatives, he said the proposed Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Chennai and Bengaluru-Chennai high-speed rail corridors would greatly benefit Andhra Pradesh. Regions such as Tirupati, Amaravati, Palamaneru and Chittoor are expected to be covered, improving connectivity among Hyderabad, Amaravati, Bengaluru and Chennai.
The Chief Minister also welcomed the inclusion of Andhra Pradesh in the Dedicated Rare Earth Corridor, which would enable extraction of strategic minerals critical for electronics manufacturing. He noted that ₹40,000 crore allocation under ISM 2.0 for the semiconductor sector would open major investment opportunities for the state.
Chandrababu Naidu said the budget’s support for textiles, tourism and hospitality would directly benefit Andhra Pradesh, particularly tourism growth in the Araku region. He also welcomed allocations for Pulicat Lake development and conservation of migratory bird habitats.
He said that the extension of tax exemptions for data centres until 2047 would position India as a global data hub. With companies such as Google establishing data centres in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh is poised to emerge as a centre for AI-driven technologies and large-scale employment. He added that the budget’s focus on logistics, inland waterways and the East Coast Corridor would spur rapid growth along the state’s 1,000-km coastline. Urban development funds, regional growth centres, medical and AYUSH hubs would further strengthen Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Amaravati economic regions.
Stating that the Sanjeevani digital health project would be a game changer this year, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh aims to become the national address for AI, quantum computing and data-driven innovation, while pushing inclusive growth through entrepreneurship and long-term reforms.
