Victoria Memorial Orphans’ Home gets Rs 5 cr sanction

The Victoria Memorial Orphans’ Home at Kothapet has been sanctioned Rs 5 crore. The Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu while addressing the students and officials on Sunday made the announcement.

The valuable land of Victoria Memorial Residential School will be protected from any encroachment. He announced the immediate sanction of ₹5 crore for the construction of a compound wall around the Victoria Memorial campus. He said the funds are being allocated from the CSR resources of the TRANSCO department and directed the concerned officials to release the funds immediately and begin the construction work.

Later, he had lunch with the orphaned students studying at Victoria Memorial.

He said that through education, human resources can be enhanced and Telangana can compete with the world. Recognizing the importance of education, he assured that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the entire cabinet is committed to spending as much as needed on education.

He highlighted that the government is building Young India Integrated Residential Schools with the noble objective of providing international-standard education that enables every child in the state to compete globally. He said these schools are being constructed in each constituency over 25 acres with an investment of Rs 200 crore.

In the first phase, the government is constructing 100 schools at a cost of Rs11,600 crore across the state. MLA Mal Reddy Rangareddy, former MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud, and others participated in the event.
