The ‘Steel City’ will soon have double-decker buses ply on the famous beach road and is touted to be a major tourist attraction said Minister Kandula Durgesh here on Thursday. accompanied by Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Visakhapatnam district collector Harindhira Prasad and GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg, visited Rushikonda beach in Visakhapatnam and examined the facilities at the Rushikonda Blue Flag Beach.

He directed officials to work on cleanliness, safety, environmental management, traffic management, solid waste management, grey water management and infrastructure.He said that more steps will be taken for beautification of the beach while at the same time maintaining the level of blue flag standards on the beach.

He highlighted the need for the district administration and the public to work in coordination to ensure that everyone is useful. "We discussed what kind of steps should be taken to ensure that blue flag certification is ensured for a long time.” He also assured that water sports, wellness centres, eco and adventure tourism will be given priority.
