The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has been recognized with the Best Management Award by the Telangana government on International Workers' Day. The award acknowledges the board’s welfare programs, safety measures for workers, and good industrial relations.
The award was presented to HMWSSB Managing Director Ashok Reddy by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at Ravindra Bharati on Thursday. HMWSSB was the only government department to receive this recognition.
The board takes steps to ensure workplace safety, conducting annual safety awareness programs across all divisions. Employees receive training on safety guidelines, proper equipment use, wastewater management, and first-aid procedures. Additionally, health cards are issued to employees, and health camps are organized every six months. Officials and employees, including Personal Director Mohammad Abdul Khader, attended the award ceremony.
