A new women’s centre built at a cost of Rs 93.50 lakh was inaugurated in NBT Nagar, Banjara Hills, on Wednesday as part of the state government’s efforts to support women’s development.

Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, MLA Danam Nagender, and Deputy Mayor Mote Srilatha took part in the inauguration ceremony. They also laid the foundation stone for a new Anganwadi building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 29.80 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Prabhakar said the government was implementing various welfare schemes aimed at improving women’s lives, while Minister Seethakka noted that new initiatives were being launched to promote self-reliance.

Mayor Vijayalakshmi said the construction of the centre fulfilled a long-pending demand of local residents. The building is expected to serve as a space for training programmes, meetings, and other community-related activities.
