The Forum for Good Governance (FGG) has expressed serious concern over the prolonged delays in finalizing Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) cases in Telangana, urging the Revanth Reddy government to streamline procedures and ensure cases are concluded within 2 to 3 years.

FGG President M. Padmanabha Reddy warned that the current delays are sending the wrong message and fueling corruption within the administration. He noted that although the ACB regularly registers trap and disproportionate asset cases, government employees face little fear of consequences, as cases are often delayed, diluted, or diverted to departmental inquiries, the Commissioner of Inquiries, or Tribunals for Disciplinary Proceedings, leading to eventual closure.

Citing the 2010 liquor scam as an example, Reddy highlighted that 67 cases were filed against excise, police, and revenue officers, but even after 13 years, 65 cases remain unresolved. “Not a single ACB case has been finalized in the last 10 years,” he said.

He appealed to the Chief Minister to implement measures that ensure ACB cases are completed within 2 to 3 years to uphold justice and restore public confidence in anti-corruption efforts.
