The 33rd Annual Conference of Agricultural Economics Research Association (AERA), India, concluded on Wednesday at National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad. This year’s conference theme is “Innovations in Agribusiness, Empowering Women, and Climate-Resilient Agriculture”. Dr S. Mahendra Dev, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister was the Chief Guest for the event.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr Mahendra Dev delved deep into factors and policies influencing agriculture on the sidelines of discussing about opportunities and challenges of Indian economy in future. He suggested that expanding labor-intensive manufacturing and services are the needs of the hour, thus reiterating that the solution for agriculture lies in non-agricultural sector.
