Apollo Cancer Centres on Wednesday wrapped up its prostate cancer awareness program, “Tame the Fire!” aimed at driving home the message of early screening and timely medical attention for prostate cancer among men. The event began with an introduction by Dr. R. Srinath Bharadwaj. Vikram Singh Mann, Director General, Telangana Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency & Civil Defence Department, attended as the Chief Guest, alongside Dr. P. Vijay Anand Reddy, Director, Apollo Cancer Centres, and Dr. Sanjai Kumar Addla, Senior Consultant Uro Surgical Oncologist.

Dr. Vijay Anand Reddy compared prostate cancer to a silent fire—slow, unnoticed, and ignored until it grows beyond control. However, he made it clear that when detected early, it can be easily treated. The “Doctors Speak” session saw experts outline critical aspects. Dr. Sanjai Kumar Addla stressed the impact of early detection. Dr. Ashwin M Shah, Radiation Oncologist, explained key warning symptoms.
