In what is being hailed as one of Andhra Pradesh’s most transparent and large-scale recruitment drives, the state government on Thursday issued appointment orders to 15,941 newly selected teachers under Mega DSC–2025. The drive, which filled 97.52% of the 16,347 notified posts, has been described by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh as a landmark in restoring trust, merit, and speed in public recruitment.
At a celebratory event near the state secretariat, Chief Minister Naidu personally handed appointment letters to top-ranked candidates, alongside Minister Lokesh and BJP AP Chief P.Madhav. Addressing the gathering, Naidu declared, “The very first signature I placed after taking oath as Chief Minister was on the Mega DSC file. Today, with 15,941 new teachers, we are not just filling posts, we are rebuilding the education system with integrity. In the last five years, not one teacher was recruited. This government is committed to conducting DSC every single year.”
The Chief Minister reminded candidates that his governments, past and present, had overseen 14 out of 15 DSCs in united Andhra Pradesh, cumulatively appointing nearly 2 lakh teachers. He contrasted this with the previous regime, which, he alleged, had allowed public education to decline to 19th rank nationally. “With reforms, midday meals of quality rice, transparent transfers, and values-driven education, Andhra Pradesh will once again be number one,” he asserted.
Minister Nara Lokesh, who directly supervised the process, highlighted the transparency and efficiency of the exercise. “We’re rebuilding classrooms with merit, speed, and integrity. The Mega DSC proves that recruitment can be fast, fair, and future-focused, 20% TET, 80% CBT, zero interviews, and strong reservations delivered inclusively and on time,” he said.
Despite more than 150 court cases filed to stall the process, Lokesh noted that the recruitment was completed in just 150 days. Over 5.7 lakh applications were received, with nearly equal representation of men and women among those appointed, women comprising 49.9% of the recruits. “From grievance redressal to online merit lists, everything was handled transparently. This is the Andhra model of governance,” he said.
With appointment letters in hand, 15,941 teachers are now set to join duty from October, symbolizing not only jobs delivered but also a broader effort by the NDA government to restore public confidence in education, recruitment, and governance itself.
