The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Nadendla Manohar announced key reforms in the ration delivery system across the state. Speaking to the media, the Minister emphasized that the primary goal of the government is to offer better and more transparent services to the people.

As part of the reforms, QR code posters have been installed at all ration depots across the state. These codes enable ration card holders to directly share feedback or complaints by scanning them with their smartphones. The QR system links users to a web form where they can respond to questions such as, “Did you receive your ration this month?”, “Was the quantity accurate?”, “Was the quality up to standard?”, and “Was the dealer’s behaviour appropriate or was any overcharging reported?”

“These responses go straight to senior officials, enabling quick action wherever issues are identified,” the Minister stated. He stressed that public participation is vital in improving citizen services, and the new system aims to empower consumers with a direct voice.

In another citizen-friendly move, the government has started home delivery of ration supplies to elderly citizens above 65 and to persons with disabilities. Minister Manohar said the initiative, launched today, ensures ration is delivered five days in advance to these vulnerable groups.

Distribution of ration supplies for the month of July also began across the state today. Comparing the current depot-based system with the previous mobile unit delivery model, the Minister noted that the present method has yielded better results. “People’s feedback will be our guiding force,” he said, calling on citizens to actively participate in refining the system further.
