The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially announced Lankala Deepak Reddy as its candidate for the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election in Telangana. The party’s central leadership approved his nomination after reviewing a shortlist of three names — Deepak Reddy, Dr. Keerti Reddy, and V. Padma — submitted by the state unit five days ago.
Deepak Reddy had contested the Jubilee Hills seat in the 2023 Assembly elections, securing 25,866 votes, which accounted for 14.11% of the total, and finished in third place. His re-nomination reflects the party’s strategy to strengthen its presence in this high-profile urban constituency, traditionally a stronghold of the Congress.
The BJP’s state president is expected to issue the official B Form confirming Deepak Reddy’s candidature on Wednesday. The by-election is scheduled for November 11, with the counting of votes and declaration of results on November 14.
Party leaders expressed confidence that Deepak Reddy’s prior experience, familiarity with local issues, and groundwork in the constituency would help the BJP consolidate support and improve its performance in the upcoming poll.
