Buchi Ram Prasad Takes Charge as Brahmin Welfare Corporation Chairman K. Buchi Ram Prasad officially assumed charge as Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation in Gollapudi on Tuesday, in the presence of Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy. He pledged to revive the Corporation with meaningful schemes for the upliftment of Brahmins across the state.
Recalling the Corporation’s origins under CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, he announced support for Vedic scholars, priests, and economically weaker Brahmin families. Honorariums for scholars have been doubled to Rs 6,000, and temple grants under the Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam scheme raised to Rs 10,000.
Temple committees will be formed as per Agama Shastra, and a monitoring panel for temple attacks is under discussion. Minister Reddy reaffirmed government support, highlighting increased honorariums for priests (Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000) and the sanctioning of 380 new temples. Education Minister Nara Lokesh’s plan to construct 1,000 temples in backward areas is also in progress.
