Choose Developers over Blockers in GP polls: CM

02-12-2025 12:00:00 AM

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has urged the people of the state to prioritize development over political vendettas in the upcoming panchayat elections. Emphasizing the need to elect capable sarpanches who can transform villages into hubs of progress, he declared, "Don't choose those who put shackles on your feet—select leaders who crave development. Good people as sarpanches will build your villages; my responsibility is to provide funds and water." He envisioned turning Palamuru into a "golden crop paradise" within a decade, fulfilling long-cherished dreams of irrigation and prosperity.

Grateful for the district's unwavering support, Revanth, addressing a public meeting in Makthal on Monday, highlighted how Palamuru's 12 MLAs propelled him to become Telangana's second Chief Minister. "With your blessings, I stand before you today. Palamuru's grass nurtures with love but crushes betrayers to the depths," he remarked, alluding to the region's fierce loyalty. Recalling how the district embraced K. Chandrashekar Rao despite lacking basic infrastructure, he lambasted the previous BRS regime for 10 years of neglect: unfinished Palamuru projects, and zero progress on the Narayanapet-Kodangal lift irrigation scheme.

Under the Congress-led 'Praja Prabhutvam' (People's Government), Reddy stressed on decisive action. Despite court cases stalling works for 1.5 years post-assumption of power, the government compensated farmers at Rs. 20 lakhs per acre, securing 96% consent for land acquisition in Narayanapet-Kodangal. "Your Palamuru son, now Chief Minister, takes responsibility to complete these projects and deliver irrigation water," he pledged. Foundation stones for key infrastructure, like the high-level bridge at Jurala Project Dam, signal renewed momentum.

Revanth underscored education as a cornerstone, prioritizing "Young India Integrated Schools" in every constituency, with 14 planned in Palamuru alone, alongside an IIT establishment. "No party flags or agendas—only Palamuru's growth as a national model," he asserted. CM highlighted welfare milestones include free RTC travel for women, 200 units of free electricity, ration rice distribution, and Rs. 1.04 lakh crore spent on farmers in two years via loan waivers, freeing them from debt. Empowering women economically, conducting caste censuses, and sub-classifying SCs reflect inclusive governance. Amid repaying KCR's Rs. 8 lakh crore debt burden, the government hosts the Telangana Rising Global Summit on December 8-9 to showcase the state's vibrancy, targeting a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047.

Medaram Jatara: CM Stresses Uncompromising Quality

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conducted a detailed review of preparations for the Medaram Jatara, scheduled for January 28-31, 2026.  Officials, including Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Konda Surekha, and Adluri Lakshman, presented updates via PowerPoint on infrastructure and development works.

Revanth issued firm directives: preserve trees around Sammakka and Saralamma gaddes, ensure top-notch construction quality without flaws, and install flood lights on all four sides to prevent water stagnation during monsoons. He called for lush greenery near the main temple for a majestic ambience and comprehensive lighting in the premises. "No compromise on quality," he emphasized, prioritizing devotee safety and grandeur to make the event a benchmark for tribal festivals.

Meeting with HUDCO Chairman: Push for Low-Interest Loans

CM Revanth Reddy met HUDCO Chairman Sanjay Kulshrestha, appealing for low-interest loans to fund mega projects like Bharat Future City, Hyderabad Metro expansion, RRRR, radial roads, greenfield highways, Bandar Port connectivity, and bullet train. He sought restructuring of prior high-interest loans, receiving a positive nod. Revanth urged swift approvals for 10 lakh additional houses, with assurances of support. He extended HUDCO Chairman an invitation to the Bharat Global Summit on December 8-9.
