Hyderabad: Dr. K. Narayana, Chairman of the Communist Party of India (CPI) Control Commission, on Tuesday urged the Union government to take immediate action to resolve the ongoing Ladakh issue through meaningful dialogue and consultation with all stakeholders.
He highlighted that the continuing tension and administrative uncertainty in the region are adversely affecting the livelihood and democratic rights of the local population. Dr. Narayana stressed that the government must ensure constitutional safeguards, environmental protection, and fair political representation for the people of Ladakh. Warning that ignoring local concerns could lead to further unrest and alienation, he called on the Centre to uphold federal principles and democratic values while addressing demands for statehood, Sixth Schedule status, and equitable development.
The CPI leader also demanded the immediate release of all those arrested ahead of the scheduled negotiation meeting to ensure discussions take place in a free and fair environment.
