DGP Jitender was felicitated at a lavish retirement ceremony held at the Telangana Police Academy on Tuesday, marking the culmination of his 33-year career in law enforcement.

During the event, Jitender highlighted key initiatives undertaken by the Telangana Police to tackle cybercrime and drug-related issues. He noted the successful filling of vacant positions and stressed the department’s commitment to humanitarian approaches, particularly in supporting victims.

Reflecting on his tenure with the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Police, Jitender expressed gratitude for the support received upon his transfer from Punjab. “The encouragement from senior officers was incredibly motivational. Telangana Police now feels like home,” he said. He also thanked the state government for the opportunity to serve as DGP, adding that over the past 15 months, he focused on stabilising law and order and implementing measures to reduce crime statewide.

Jitender underscored the national recognition Telangana Police has earned. “We are actively combating narcotics and cybercrime. Investigations into the betting mafia have resulted in multiple searches and arrests across the country,” he said. He also noted Telangana’s top ranking in the India Justice Report and emphasised the role of technology in crime-solving.
