The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, held a day-long workshop titled Indian Knowledge Systems: Reflections on Research and Pedagogical Inquiries at the university on Monday, drawing wide participation from academia and students.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. N. Nagaraju, inaugurated the event and urged faculty members to actively embed Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into academic discourse. He emphasized that under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, EFLU should play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing IKS-based education and research.
Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Ganti S. Murthy, National Coordinator of the Indian Knowledge Systems Division, Ministry of Education, Government of India, stressed the significance of integrating traditional frameworks with contemporary academic approaches. “Our living traditions hold deep wisdom that can enrich modern education and research,” he said.
The workshop featured engaging presentations by Prof. Acharya Veeranarayana N K Pandurangi, Dean of Vedanta Faculty, Karnataka Sanskrit University; Prof. D. Venkat Rao, former English Literature professor at EFLU; and Prof. Penna Madhusudan, Director of the Sanskrit Academy, Hyderabad.
