‘EPIC’ director opens up, expresses confidence of success

Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya headline the upcoming youthful entertainer EPIC – FIRST SEMESTER, directed by Aditya Hasan. Known for the popular web series 90s, Hasan is making his silver-screen debut with the film, produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. The film is scheduled to release on September 11.

Speaking to the media, Hasan revealed that he hails from Wanaparthy and developed an interest in cinema after completing his schooling. He later pursued higher education in Hyderabad and the UK before entering filmmaking. His acclaimed series 90s was inspired by his father’s real-life experiences. According to Hasan, EPIC continues the world created in 90s, exploring the younger brother’s journey, love and student life abroad.

Hasan admitted feeling initial pressure working with the popular Baby pair but believes EPIC offers a fresh experience that moves beyond audience expectations. He also praised producer Naga Vamsi for trusting his vision and personally overseeing the project, including key creative decisions. The director revealed that EPIC will continue with EPIC – FINAL SEMESTER. Music director Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the film’s music, while acclaimed lyricist and singer Gorati Venkanna has contributed the song ‘Sanchaarame’. Hasan aims to explore diverse genres while delivering entertaining films with positive values and memorable stories.
