BRS MLA and former minister T Harish Rao, who announced a visit to the newly-inaugurated TIMS here to check the facilities in the hospital, was on Wednesday prevented by police from going ahead with his programme. The Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) at Sanatnagar here was inaugurated by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on August 17.

Rao, a nephew of BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, had alleged that the Congress government opened the hospital for publicity without providing adequate facilities.Rao, in a post on 'X', asked why he was being stopped from visiting the TIMS and whether the Congress government feared that it's "hollowness and failure" would be exposed.

Rao, who had served as health minister during the previous BRS regime, also posted a video on 'X' in which he is seen speaking to a police officer that he would go for a marriage and not TIMS. Meanwhile, the office of Health Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha said in a release that the hospital administration is conducting sterilization in the wards and operation theatres on Wednesday. The exercise was necessitated as thousands of people visited the health facility following its inauguration on August 17.The sterilization exercise would conclude on August 20 and the services, including operations and inpatient services, would begin on August 21.
