GHMC pays tribute to freedom fighter Konda Lakshman Bapuji

GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan hailed the selfless services and inspiring journey of freedom fighter and Telangana movement leader Konda Lakshman Bapuji as a guiding example for all.

On the occasion of Bapuji’s birth anniversary on Saturday, GHMC officials, led by Commissioner Karnan, paid tribute by garlanding his portrait at the GHMC headquarters. 

Speaking at the event, Commissioner Karnan emphasized that Bapuji, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, actively participated in India’s freedom struggle and carried the same values throughout his life. He highlighted Bapuji’s role as a direct witness and bridge across three generations in Telangana’s struggle for self-rule and numerous other people’s movements in the state.

The tribute ceremony underlined Bapuji’s enduring legacy, encouraging citizens to draw inspiration from his dedication to social and political causes.

This commemoration served as a reminder of the lasting impact of leaders like Konda Lakshman Bapuji on Telangana’s history and the ongoing inspiration they provide to public service and civic responsibility.

The ceremony saw participation from senior officials, including Additional Commissioners Raghu Prasad and Venu Gopal, Additional SP Narasimha Reddy, Chief Engineer Sahadev Ratnakar, Additional CCP Gangadhar, and PRO Mamindla Dasharatham.
