Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner RV Karnan has directed officials to expedite the beautification works of the Shilpa Layout Phase 2 flyover, which is nearing completion and will soon be opened to traffic. The flyover, constructed from the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to Gachibowli at a cost of Rs 178 crore, has completed its civil works, and the remaining greenery and beautification tasks must be finished immediately.

During his inspection on Tuesday, Karnan also instructed engineering officials to install transfer bars (rumble strips) as per Indian Roads Congress (IRC) guidelines. Additionally, he reviewed the Gachibowli and Hafizpet flyovers, directing officials to prepare proposals for further development works.

Accompanied by Project Chief Engineer Bhaskar Reddy, Deputy Executive Engineer Harish, and Zonal Superintending Engineer Shankar Nayak, Karnan inspected several areas in Hafizpet. He ordered the removal of waste accumulated under the Hafizpet flyover to make the space suitable for sports activities.

Furthermore, he assessed the Eerla Cheruvu drainage diversion project, instructing officials to complete pending works promptly.  The Commissioner emphasized the importance of completing all remaining tasks swiftly to enhance the city's infrastructure and ensure smooth traffic movement.
