The Greater Hyderabad Sikhs are preparing to welcome the 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi Nagar Kirtan Yatra, dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The historic procession, which began at Dhubri Sahib Gurdwara (Assam) last month, will reach Hyderabad on September 25 this year.

The Central Committee of Gurudwara Saheban (CCGS), Telangana, has made elaborate arrangements for the welcome at Ghatkesar (at 4 pm on Sept 25). A grand Nagar Kirtan will start the same evening (7.30 pm) from Kishanbagh X Road and pass through Puratan Gurudwara Saheb Asha Singh Bagh Saheeda Singh Asthan before halting overnight at Gurudwara Saheb Baram Bala, Sikh Chawniat.

CCGS Chairman S. Gurucharan Singh appealed to people of all faiths to join the yatra. "Guru Sahib’s sacrifice is a universal lesson in defending faith and humanity. Hyderabad, known as Mini India, will showcase its strength in diversity through this Nagar Kirtan."

The sacred "Palki Sahib with Guru Granth Sahib Ji", led by the Panj Pyaras, will be accorded a ceremonial welcome. Devotees will carry Nishan Sahebans on cars and motorcycles, with community stalls serving refreshments. Sacred relics, historic weapons and Sikh literature will also be displayed. After overnight kirtan, langar, and religious gatherings, the yatra will resume on Sept 26 en route to Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh).

The SGPC-organised yatra, covering 23 states, commenced on August  21, 2025 from Dhubri, Assam, and will culminate on November 23, 2025 at Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, coinciding with Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s 350th Shaheedi Diwas.
